I can't even begin to find the right words to describe just how much I loved this book! It was both a very sweet and funny read, but more than that ...the story on a whole had a lot of heart. Throughout most of the story I was grinning from ear to ear, but there were quite a few times where it had me bursting out in laughter. Faith and her naivete about sex was something very rare to see these days, especially for a woman of her age. But that's the thing that I also found to be very, very sweet.When she first propostioned Cody with her "sweet, but unusual deal" I thought I would split my gut, I was laughing so dang hard. The thing is.....I could just picture that whole scene between the two of them in my head, and so vividly too. From that point on it just got better and better. I loved the way Cody treated her throughout the whole story. Some lesser man might had laughed at her and blew her off, but Cody didn't. He never acted as though she was some dumb woman he didn't want to bother with. No....he treated her with dignity. And he was content to let her explore, even when he thought she'd kill him before it was over.
Their conversations were even more hysterical, but the funniest thing I ever read was the scene in the pasture. Every single time I think of that scene---which is often--- I still burst into laughter. I love the closeness of Cody's family. But it was the close bond between Faith and her father that really melted my heart, more than anything. Their deep silent longing to find something more exciting in life, yet not wanting to lose that close bond they'd had with each other, had me in full out ugly sobbing mode.
I hope there are more books to come in this series, because I am totally hooked and want more.

Once again she has written another hot, sexy cowboy story. Cody McGavin didn't know what hit him when Faith propositions him for sex. WHAT?! He almost turns her down but didn't. I bet he is glad after their first time together. What a fast and fun read. Faith was a hoot. I liked her naivete an it worked for her and Cody to have fun together, but he fell for her. A really good story for this series. Looking forward to more.
I loved every minute of this book! Faith and Cody were both excellent and sympathetic characters. They had the best conversations -- so many laughs. Faith is definitely not afraid to be honest and say how she feels. I loved that. I also appreciated that Cody is not presented as some super-hot swaggery jerk. He admits that he is really concerned that he may not do everything right. It's adorable and refreshing. I also enjoyed the hints that were dropped about the brothers to come. This series is perfect IMO. I wouldn't change a thing.
Cody and Faith are really fun characters. Cody is just home for a few weeks and Faith has decided that he is the best choice to rid her of a problem. She needs to be deflowered. As Cody says who uses that term today. Seems that Faiths journey into romance comes from romance novels she read when her Dad was hurt and in the hospital. Their journey is predictable but fun. Faith is very innocent and Cody has a sensitivity that does not show on the outside. Like Zane, the first McGavin Brother, Cody is a very sexy cowboy so look for some very steamy scenes and a great ending as the two get their HEA.
I enjoyed this story a bit more than A Cowboy's Strength. But same as the first... it just stops. There's so much build up for the ending to fall flat. Mandy was extremely juvenile. There is no mention of an age but some of the questions she asks really made me roll my eyes. I did not get the connection with this story. I missed the emotional roller coaster. But I liked Cody. He was a true gentleman. I liked the intimate moments. I was glad to see some characters from the first installment make their appearances. I'm not disappointed I made this purchase or feel like I lost my time for reading it. It was just missing that "it" factor for me. I unfortunately did not love it. It was a nice read.
Cody McGavin has had a dream to take off for 2 months on horseback and is set to go in two weeks. Faith Underwood has decided Cody will be perfect for what she has in mind-end her vexing condition of Virginity. She offers the use of her horse for his trip in exchange for him teaching her about sex. Cody, doesn't quite know what to make of the offer but decides he can't tell her no. So begins this fun filled story of learning about each other and learning love comes when you least expect it. Vicki does an excellent job building her characters and her stories always have lots of humor. The McGavin Brothers books are books you won't want to miss reading and adding to your library.
Loved this book. It is the second book in the McGavin Brother's series and it's interesting and fun with also being sexy and smart. Cody is a sexy as sin Cowboy and Faith is a Tom boy who loves her daddy and animals. They are both very focused and hard working and stubborn. How they navigate this relationship is all the fun. I did receive an early copy of this book for a review but I love it so much that I also purchased a copy to have in my library because I plan on re-reading this story a lot. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Youngest McGavin brother Cody is as kind as he is gorgeous. When freckle faced tom girl Faith asks him to be "her first" in exchange for letting him borrow her beloved horse, he thinks she's joking. When he realizes she's serious, he doesn't feel right about the idea. A few dabs of vanilla flavoring, twenty vanilla candles, and a lick on the butt from a cow later and Cody wonders how he could have ever said "no"!
Vicki Lewis Thompson is the author of over 70 romance novels and believe me, it is never "wash, rinse, repeat" with her characters! (Inside joke - read the book!) A Cowboy's Honor is a fun romp through the countryside with a handsome cowboy and his unexpected love. Every girl should be so lucky as to have a man as romantic as Cody!
I received a free copy of this book for an honest review. My tablet died - trapping my book inside - so I bought another copy for my new tablet because I HAD to see what happened! You should buy it, too. I promise you won't be sorry!
